Donna M. Hunt has been a Bowie County resident for 40 years. Donna has
32 years in the classroom with 21 of those years in DeKalb ISD. She has
taught on all three campuses. Donna has a Master of Science degree in
Curriculum K-12 and spent the largest amount of her career teaching
science. She has volunteered with Oktoberfest, DeKalb Youth Sports
Association, teaching Sunday school, and with the DeKalb Education
Foundation. Donna was married to Rickey Hunt for 36 years and they
pastored Lighthouse Church for 30 years before he passed away in 2021.
She has 2 sons, Eli Hunt and Zach Hunt who both graduated from DISD.
Her daughter-in-law Laura is currently a math teacher at DeKalb High
School and her daughter- in- law Victoria is the school nurse. Donna has 3
grandchildren enrolled in DeKalb Elementary School. Esther is in
kindergarten, Isaac is in 1st grade, and Asher is in 2nd grade. “We have an
exceptional school district and I am looking forward to serving with the
board and continuing our growth forward.”
